Italy

In spite of measures to reduce the use of the Mediterranean routes to reach Europe, Italy remains one of the key entry points to the north. Since the beginning of the decade, hundreds of thousands have made the dangerous crossing. The migration flows to Italy have been characterized by a high diversity of profiles, in terms of nationalities, age groups and migratory patterns. REACH has been present in Italy since 2016 and has since provided humanitarian actors with up-to-date data and analysis on the conditions of migrants and refugees as well as the trends seen in migration towards and within Italy.
